Scope

Adds archive/SALVAGE-design-system-superset-20260628.md, a salvage review of the design system recovered on 2026-10-08, plus a pointer to it in archive/README.md. Review only: no token, theme, logo, component or build change.

Every group in the archived copy is marked candidate / superseded / out of scope, with the reason, against today's origin/main. Headlines:

Base tokens: after resolving var() and notation, nearly all 115 match live. The real differences are all deliberate live changes: primary #C05734, five lightened mode accents (61cc257), darker success/warning, fonts. Four small additions are candidates for leadership: warm cream, warm shadows, two severity levels, deeper cocoa steps.
Themes: the 13 archived themes reduce to 6 candidates. Spelwork federation and audit are the best-sourced (Keff's spec). Toilville sage, lavender, sky and pale have no earlier source in this repo. The archived Peter Swimm and Fux palettes are superseded by values rebuilt from in-repo legacy tokens.
Guideline cards: 10 of 14 are already generated live in artifact.html. The candidates are the writing-voice paragraph, the product wordmark sheet and the Pardner "Memphis" texture.
Icons and illustrations: pending Keff's provenance answer (#207). None duplicates live art; live has no UI glyphs at all.
Components: 7 map to ForgeBlock blocks and could become var(--*)-only CSS ports. Avatar, Dialog, Tooltip and Tabs have no block yet, so they wait on a vocabulary decision. All the JSX, ui_kits/ and bundles are out of scope.

The review is placed beside the archived folder, not inside it as #208 first proposed, so the folder stays a byte-exact copy of f5c7411.

Testing

just check passes (dist, docs, WCAG, ForgeBlock, brand guide).
python3 -m pytest generator/tests/ passes: 343 tests, including test_archive_inert.py, which keeps archive/ out of the build and checks that its folders are named like their tags.
Every value in the review was measured with a script against dist/<product>/skin.css, tokens.dtcg.json, udg/config/forgeblock.yml and git history. Two examples: the Toilville alternate-theme hexes first appear in f5c7411, and the legacy Peter Swimm README has green as the accent with rose as hover.

Impact Statement

None at runtime. It adds one Markdown file and a README bullet under archive/, which nothing builds from. Any salvage it recommends needs its own PR, with Keff's and leadership's sign-off.

Docs

Side finding, deliberately not fixed here: CLAUDE.md's colour table still lists --success #16A34A / --warning #EA580C. The dtcg source and every skin have used #12883E / #CD4D0B since 2026-07-01.
